Individual Eyelash Extensions

Today I have gotten fake eyelashes for FREE! Not the daily ones that take 5 minutes to apply, but the individually applied eyelashes that can last for up to a month! How lucky am I?.. Well, I got lucky because my cousin's girlfriend is learning to do them, and I must say, she's done a really good job! (contact details at the end of the post)

Have a look (before and after shots available below too):

(If you are wondering why I've got a teaspoon in my hand, its because Nutella is the love of my life and I eat it on its own.. oopsy..)

Side shot before eyelashes (sorry to be looking like a twat, tired and sleepy):

Side shot after:

As you can see in the images I have veryyy short eyelashes and on top of it they are also very light, especially the ends! Frontal shot before:

What a difference ey?! Frontal shot after:

Well and this one from up close (don't mind the face, this was after hours of laying down lol ):

So this is the beautiful girl who's got me looking pretty

If you would like eyelashes or makeup done contact her through direct message on:

As she isn't your cousins girlfriend, you won't be getting it done for free, but probably cheaper than at those beauty salons!

Kim Kardashian contouring tutorial/look using ELF and MUA Products!

The controversial Kim Kardashian, a rubbish porn star with a maahooosive butt or narcissistically beautiful woman (with the help of make-up artists and hair stylist by her side at all times), we can't deny she usually looks pretty damn good. Not necessarily a fan of what she does, but I do admire her determination to always look picture perfect. With that in mind, I have decided to try and recreate her look mostly using relatively cheap products.

So I thought I'll show what I have managed to achieve before I explain how I've done it in case you don't like it and don't want to waste time reading my blabbering about make-up and contouring! More pictures at the end of the post.

I also thought I'll show what a real professional job looks like:

(Source: http://kimkardashian.celebuzz.com/2014/08/06/jimmy-kimmel-live-2/kim-kardashian-15-3/)

So lets begin, first of all I google'd and youtube'd many tutorials, of which I can say that I found two, that were simple and easy to follow. There is lots of Kim Kardashian look tutorials, but the two that I have picked out are by professional and experienced make-up artists, so probably save yourself some time by scavenging through all the home made ones and look at the ones below:

A video tutorial by Vegas_Nay:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saMyRvvHFTE&list=UUatI2zOJvBf5AM-V7GLGC2g

and

A video tutorial by Pretty Beautiful Things:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0UXiVdywvs

So I watched both of those tutorials and kind of made up a technique of my own. First of all the difference between these two tutorials is that Vegas_Nay tutorial is of a girl who's got quite a few imperfections (like myself), whereas Pretty Beautiful Things tutorial is with a girl who's got very nice skin, so I would advise to pick accordingly which tutorial you will follow more. But bellow is what I decided to do!

So first of all, skin preparation is extremely important, my skin is quite oily, yet sometimes quite dry (my skin has too many mood swings, I know!) and spot prone, so I wash it using Clinique soap and use Garnier mattifying cream. I wait for it to dry and then I use exactly the same primer as Vegas_Nay, Maybelline Baby Skin, its pretty damn good considering the price. I let the primer set in for a few minutes and then I applied Burberry Velvet Foundation (I have done a review previously if wondering whether its good) using MUA F2 Stippling Brush. Just quickly, off topic, I've only recently discovered stippling brushes, so this is the only one I've used and have nothing to compare to, apart from a flat foundation brush, and I can honestly say it has changed my life, I hardly ever use a flat foundation brush anymore! Stippling brush allows a much better coverage and doesn't soak up all the foundation, guys try it! And now is where the fun begins of the contouring! After trying to apply a lighter concealer (from the kit MUA Pro-Base Conceal and Brighten Kit) under my eyes using a wet brush, a wet sponge is way better, but I didn't have any at the time (TIP: if a brush is wet, it will not absorb too much concealer and will leave most of it on your skin) I had realised that my foundation is rubbing in too much with the concealer, making it difficult to create a good contour, so I have decided to put some ELF Translucent powder and then try to contour again, best decision I have made! I didn't need as much concealer then! However keep in mind that I have lots of imperfections and probably used more foundation than any of you will need, therefore you may want to skip the powder. So, the kit that I used to contour is MUA Pro-Base the image is below, since it has a dark, a light and a rosy shade, you can contour, highlight and blush your cheeks!

To give you an idea of where I applied dark and light colour this is a diagram that I have followed:

(Source: http://nikimcewan.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/photo.png)

However, and this is a big however, I did not want my contouring to completely change my face features, as I have seen so many pictures around where people are transformed from a girl normal girl next door to a girl who all of a sudden got Rihanna's lips, Megan Fox's eyes and Angelina Jolie's jawline! And I just want to enhance my face features. So the shades that I have used weren't so drastically contrasting, meaning that I have achieved a more natural, glowy (probably not a real word lol) look.

Moving on, after I contoured my face, I again applied ELF Translucent Powder on my face, not a lot just a tad bit to let the contouring set. I know this may sound like I have been applying powder the wrong way round, buttt sometimes powder applied before cream/liquid based makeup will keep it in place for longer. It's a brilliant tip that I have found from gossmakeupartist tutorial:

A video tutorial on a different way of using powder:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyQsVyGadbY

The MUA Pro-Base Kit has the blusher tone, so if you like you could just apply that on your cheeks before you powder and then contouring would be done for you, but recently I fell in love with ELF Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky. The blusher is shimmery peach colour and its not too bright, which I really like for contoured looks, since you don't want too many different colours and tones on your face! I also apply my all time favourite MUA Highlighter (I will have to do a review on this, as it's amazing!) just above my cheeks and tiny bit of it above my eyebrows to give a dewy look.

So this is the look that I came out with:

I thought I will share photos of the look with my hair up and down.

....another picture with those life saving filters!

And one in totally different lighting (I was in bed watching a movie lol):

Keeping in mind that I'm not a make-up artist, I think I have done a pretty good job, its not perfect, but I've achieved exactly what I set out. I got a contoured look thats quite natural, apart from the massive eyelashes and dark eyes lol!

So as promised I will list all the products that I have used for contouring (if anyone would like to find out what I use for eyebrows, eyes, lips etc. please comment):

- Burberry Velvet Foundation (Shade: Trench No.203)
- MUA Pro-Base Conceal & Brighten Kit  (Shade: Beige-Golden)
- E.L.F Baked Blush (Shade: Peachy Cheeky)
- E.L.F High Definition Powder (Shade: Translucent)
- MUA F2 Stippling Brush

Most of these products are available in my ebay shop!

I hope you have liked my post. Please share this page, comment and contact me with any enquiries!

Lots of love, Sant Lucijaa!

Burberry Velvet Foundation Review

So I have decided to make a review about the most recent purchase I've made, being Burberry Velvet Foundation in shade Trench No.203. This foundation is inspired by the iconic Burberry trench coats!

First of all the price is quite high on Burberry website, £35! I got lucky and found a bargain at Tkmaxx for £17.99, so I thought I will give it a try, as the description of the foundation fit what I look for! It's supposed to be long wearing and provide good coverage!

I do take my hat off to Burberry for the design of the foundation bottle! I love it! The stylish long, rectangular lid with classic pattern of Burberry makes me want to keep it as a centre piece on my make-up desk!

(Source: http://assets.burberry.com/is/image/Burberryltd/63a4041ab133871fee0ab8bfc639c19302ebc9ee?$prod_zoom$)

In my picture you can't see the pattern, so I thought I will include a picture from the website to give a better idea, why I'm raving on about the design!

So about the actual foundation, it does feel quite nice on the face, it isn't thick, which long lasting foundations usually are, so that's definitely a plus. I'd like to mention that I use a MUA F2 Stippling Brush to apply the foundation, so partly that's why it doesn't feel too heavy on my face! Also I have found coverage to be exactly what's said on the bottle, covered my imperfections well (I have lots of those!). However I can't help but wonder, would I ever pay £35 for it?! And my answer is, probably not! I normally use Revlon Colourstay which only costs £12.49, sometimes with offers, even cheaper! Revlon Colourstay is a little heavier on your face, but using a stippling brush the difference between Burberry and Revlon isn't that obvious and it certainly doesn't bother me! So in my opinion Burberry isn't worth the money, there are plenty of cheaper options that do an amazing job!

So this is me after using the foundation, covered everything, but admittedly I have used many other products to achieve this look (I was trying to create a somewhat similar look to Kim Kardashian). I will be posting the other products that I have used to achieve this look later on.

All in all, I really can't make-up my mind with this foundation, I'm certainly not going to buy it for £35, but admittedly my financial situation isn't in a good place. Would I buy it if I had more money? Probably, but it would be because I'm a sucker for designer names and stylish bottles! Foundation wise, Revlon does just as good of a job as this!

P.S. If your are interested in MUA F2 Stippling Brush, it is available in my ebay shop.

My first blog post!

So what do I write for my first blogpost? I think I will introduce myself and talk about what you may expect to see on here!

So first of all I'm currently an unemployed graduate of Masters of Architecture! So finding a job in my field comes first, however I have a deep LOVE for make-up and fashion. Although most posts will be about that (with an occasional post about architecture), you can also expect to see me show off my (lack of) cooking skills, as well how I spend my days!

Make-up.. Where do I begin, my love for make-up probably stems from some deeper insecurities about my appearance, but ey, who cares about that! Make-up is my ultimate love, it makes me feel better about myself, as well as create many different looks reflecting my personality! So I will do some reviews of makeup products, as well as post some looks that I have tried to create (more like copy off youtube)!

Last, but not least, I have a small ebay shop where you can purchase many products that I will be using in my posts as well as other products that are loved by my customers! You can have a loot at the shop here!

Lots of love, Sant Lucijaa!
